We're now using Royal Mail's Next Day Delivery Service from Friday 18th until Tuesday 22nd but we're doing it at a reduced cost for only £5.49! (usually £7.99!) So any orders placed on Friday 18th will arrive Saturday or Monday before 1pm (not guaranteed on Saturdays though). Orders placed on Sunday 20th or Monday 21st will arrive on Tuesday 22nd before 1pm. You can still order on the 23rd for delivery 24th but this cuts it fine so if anything is delayed bare in mind your order won't arrive until Tuesday 29th December. Royal Mail Special Delivery is the safest and quickest way to send parcels at this time of year and saves us and you, a few sleepless nights worrying about the potential of missing parcels!

But from Friday we'll be removing our Free Delivery and Express Delivery services and running with our Next Day Delivery ONLY, to ensure orders arrive on time! Well we're back in full swing after our USA trip and we've had an amazing time planning stock for our Christmas shop which opens today - 1st October! Lots of gorgeous personalised gifts and many more to come including Christmas eve kits, Christmas frames and Christmas themed jewellery! Sooooo excited to launch this magical collection! Here's what we have so far and stay tuned as there's more to come!

 

For the first time in five years we're taking a mini vacation off in search of new ideas, designs and inspiration! So from Friday 4th Sept until Monday 14th Sept we'll be unable to answer any telephone calls or email enquiries in person, however orders can still be placed as normal and shipped to our customers via a third party company. During this time we'll only be offering our standard delivery service of 4-6 working days. Any queries or returns will be dealt with upon our return on the 15th September and if anyone would like to return/exchange an order please email us with the details and we will process these requests on Tuesday 15th September. We'll only be out of the office for 7 working  days so we're hoping it shouldn't cause too much disruption and of course other than telephone/email contact, orders can still be placed and shipped out so it's business as usual! Our Make-Over is still in progress but we're about halfway through so please bare with us for a few more weeks. Our colour scheme and logo has been updated - we hope you like it! We're also currently re-sizing all of our images so customers can get a better idea of detail but with nearly 2000 products it's going to take a little time! Lots of new photography to do and new graphics to be designed as well, so we're estimating by the end of August we'll have a brand new website! Just in time for Christmas - yes the dreaded 'c' word is looming already! Anyway just a quick update to keep everyone posted and as we said previously there shouldn't be too much disruption so it's business as usual! As we're celebrating our 5th Birthday (yes we are now five!) we decided another make-over was in order! It's been 3 years since our last one in 2012, so we felt like a little freshening up, so during the next few weeks we'll be changing colour schemes, re-designing graphic layouts and updating our logo. Things might take a little while to settle down but there shouldn't be too much disruption to our lovely customers so don't worry, it's business as usual!

We've had an exceptionally busy week this week relaunching our beautiful handmade jewellery range by Love Lily! The entire collection is currently being revamped so there's going to be lots more updates to follow, but at the moment the main update is that we've added three new collections to the brand - Love Lily Essentials, which is a range featuring classic 'must-have' crystal pendants and earrings from hearts to butterflies, stars and other wonderful shapes! Then we have introduced Love Lily Exclusive which is a stunning range of one-off designs perfect for the lady who wants something no one else has! And finally we have started a Love Lily Clearance range so we can give customers the opportunity to buy these gorgeous handmade pieces at crazy sale prices! Have you ever experienced ‘Green Finger??’

A common misconception when a silver ring turns your finger green, is to assume that the ring isn’t real silver.  This is unlikely to be the case, as a silver ring may turn your finger green because of a chemical reaction between the moisture on your skin and the alloys contained in the metal.  This moisture can be simply water, body sweat or humidity, or contact with a chemical product such as a skin cream or lotion.

You may also have a similar reaction, known as oxidation, when you wear a copper ring too as the green finger or tarnish, occurs frequently with copper and copper is an alloy often used in silver, hence the connection with sterling silver and a green finger. 

Again, most people assume that if your finger turns green or your ring tarnishes, that the ring is not genuine 925 sterling silver.  The opposite is true because acids that cause the silver to oxidize, which are regularly found in the air, water, creams and soaps, produce a reaction and cause tarnish.  This can leave a dark ring or green stain on your finger.   

We can easily avoid a green finger by following the following simple care steps -    

CARE - Firstly, take good care of your silver jewellery! A lot of people don’t take the time to regularly clean their jewellery and ensure they are stored separately from other items. All jewellery requires cleaning and sterling silver is no different to maintain a long and happy life!

REMOVAL - Remove jewellery especially rings, when washing your hands, and remove all jewellery when swimming, cleaning, showering etc. Then you should find tarnishing or discolouration isn’t a problem. Avoiding chemicals and moisture will help to prevent your jewellery tarnishing.

BARRIER – If your still find you suffer from green finger after following all of the above advice, then a tip to avoid a green finger is to coat the inside of your ring with clear nail polish.  A few layers of clear nail polish will provide a barrier between the ring and your skin so the ring will not tarnish or turn your finger green, or simply remove the jewellery and clean again. Some people may just react with certain metals, of even the highest quality, but hopefully if you care and clean your jewellery properly you can avoid tarnishing and the dreaded ‘Green Finger!!’.

It's been a while since our last update and so much has happened, so here's the last six months in a snapshot!

We had quite a busy Summer with sales of Toe Rings and Anklets higher than ever and our Christmas trade from October to December was crazy busy with sales of Kids Jewellery and Marcasite Jewellery soaring! These few months are always spent chasing our tails and nothing much goes on except keeping up with the orders and sending out customer newsletters. It was a lovely Christmas period last year without any major glitches! Nothing went missing and everything arrived on time; Thank you Royal Mail!! Makes a refreshing change!

January was quieter than normal, but we had a great Valentines Day sale and lots of lovely gifts went out to lots of lovely girls and guys (from lots of lovely significant others!!). Hope you all liked your surprise gifts! Throughout March and April, we've been giving the website a bit of an overhaul and we're preparing for some exciting new departments! The major one will be a new costume jewellery collection called Stardust & Dreams and a mini Art Gallery; more on both of these additions soon! We'll also be expanding our Handmade Card Collection and adding to our Handmade Jewellery department, my sister Kristina had her little boy Jacob in November ( he's gorgeous!) so she's now ready to start designing some lovely new handmade stuff, in between changing nappies!  So lots of work to do and lots of new projects to keep us busy!! "Whistle while you work" is now playing in my head!... Anyway that's all for now folks and I promise I'll keep our updates a bit more regular over the coming months!
