Hamsa Jewellery Trend

Hamsa. What's that all about then? A hamsa is an amulet shaped like a hand for magical protection against the evil eye. The word 'Hamsa' comes from the Hebrew word 'hamesh,' which means five and it refers to the five fingers on the talisman. The number 5 is a powerful number and represents defense, power and fortune. The 'Hamsa' symbol has five fingers, three extended fingers in the middle and a curved thumb or pinky finger on either side. Some also believe it represents the five books of the Torah. Sometimes it is called the Hand of Miriam, after Moses’ sister.

The Hamsa hand is a prominent Jewish motif that can be found everywhere from charms, door entrances, middle eastern jewellery, blessings for the home and many more. According to the tradition, the Hamsa hand protects the ones who display it in their homes or wear it around their necks. Many believers place the Hamsa hand in their homes and at their work place to ward off the "evil eye". Hamsa hand is also believed to bless the ones who own it with good fortune and success.

Delivery Costs Increase

Due to the price increase enforced by Royal Mail as of today, we are increasing our postage costs slightly in line with these changes. Our Standard Delivery is now £2.65 and Free Delivery is available on orders over £35. Our Express Delivery will remain the same at £4.99. The exponential increases in Royal Mail's delivery prices over the last two years, have made it impossible for us to keep absorbing these costs, however we have kept the increases as low as possible and find we are still cheaper than a lot of online stores.

Thank you as always for your valued custom x
